MAP 002 · Weber County · 2026

Who's Raising Taxes This Year

Every Weber County taxing entity that proposed a property tax increase in 2026 and went through Truth in Taxation. Each pin shows the proposed percentage, the extra revenue, what the entity's own example home would pay, the hearing, and what happened next where the record shows it. The percentages apply to that entity's slice of your bill, not your whole bill. The blue pin is West Haven, which has no city property tax and is starting a 6% tax on power and gas bills instead.

Solid: adopted Dashed: proposed, challenged, or final vote not confirmed Blue: new tax on power and gas bills, not a property tax (West Haven)

Truth in TaxationTap to flip ↻
Utah's process for property tax increases. Before a city, district, or county can collect more property tax than last year (not counting new growth), it must mail and publish notice and hold a public hearing.
Certified tax rateTap to flip ↻
The rate the state calculates each year so an entity collects about the same property tax as last year from existing property. When home values rise, this rate goes down. Going above it triggers Truth in Taxation.
New growthTap to flip ↻
Tax from new buildings and newly added property. It is left out when comparing this year's revenue to last year's, so growth alone does not trigger a hearing.
Budgeted revenueTap to flip ↻
The property tax an entity budgeted to collect last year. The percentage on each notice compares the proposed revenue to this number.
Your portionTap to flip ↻
The dollar example on a notice shows only that one entity's slice of your tax bill. Your full bill also includes the county, school district, and other districts.
Special districtTap to flip ↻
A local government separate from the city or county that provides one service, such as fire protection or water, and can charge its own property tax.
Taxing entityTap to flip ↻
Any government that charges property tax on your bill: the county, city, school district, and special districts.
ReferendumTap to flip ↻
A citizen petition that puts a local government's decision on the ballot so voters can keep it or reverse it. Roy residents are gathering signatures for a referendum, already listed on the Nov. 3 ballot as Prop #10.

Where these numbers come from

Dashed purple lines are city and town limits; the gold line is Weber County. Ogden Valley City incorporated after the Census boundaries were drawn, so its pin marks a general location without a city line.

The percentages, revenue, example bills, and hearings come from Weber County's 2026 Notice of Proposed Tax Increases and from each entity's own published notice. Outcomes come from reporting where noted. West Haven's energy tax comes from the city's hearing notice and June 17, 2026 council minutes.

What a dashed pin means

A dashed pin means the record reviewed for this map does not yet show a final adopted rate, or the increase is being challenged. It does not mean the increase failed. Pins will be updated as final votes are confirmed.
