The Layton Shuffle

Six seats across Layton, South Weber, and Davis County are all changing hands (or not) in the same 2026 cycle — and one person, two names, and one still-unconfirmed question tie several of them together.

The Kaysville office behind Jerry Stevenson's Senate seat

One address ties together Jerry Stevenson's son, the senator he replaced in 2010, a national charter-school company, and a sitting Layton councilman's possible second role — all confirmed by public filings and a named, on-the-record 2016 Salt Lake Tribune investigation, not by this outlet.

Confirmed (Salt Lake Tribune, 5/27/2016, on the record): "The company's president, Jed Stevenson, is the son of Layton Republican Sen. Jerry Stevenson. The company's vice president is Sheldon Killpack, who resigned as majority leader of the Utah Senate in 2010." Named, dated, on-the-record reporting — not a rumor.
Historical, not current: Career Path High's own 2022 board roster shows Jerry Stevenson served as Board President (9/12/14 – 6/30/23) and Clint Morris as Financial Coordinator (through 10/31/23), both at 290 N. Flint St., Kaysville — One West Construction's address. Career Path High's current board page (checked 9/22) lists neither of them, and gives the school's address as 550 E 300 S, Kaysville. The ties were real and officer-level, but ended in 2023.
New, unresolved: Career Path High's current staff directory lists a "Kate Stevenson," Secretary. Shared surname only — no evidence yet of any relation to Jerry, Bob, or Jed Stevenson. Flagged, not asserted.

The full network — Academica West's revenue scale, the One West Construction entity filing, the charter-school client list across this district, and the Bridge Elementary bank-signer question — is written up in depth in Jed Stevenson, Unelected Power, rather than repeated here.

What this diagram is actually saying

Confirmed: Bob Stevenson vacated his own Davis County Commission Seat A specifically to run for HD16 — one person, one deliberate move up, not two unrelated vacancies.
Confirmed: Susan Lee, who just won her own primary for Commission Seat B, is Trevor Lee's mother — the incumbent Bob Stevenson beat. Not a donor or financial connection, just worth knowing when her name and her son's name both come up in the same cycle.
Unconfirmed: Whether Jerry Stevenson (retiring SD-6) is related to Bob Stevenson (incoming HD16) remains an open question — the only hard data point is the $1,000 gift filed under a shared mailing address. No obituary, property record, or public bio found on either side confirms or rules it out.
Confirmed: Jerry Stevenson personally funded both handoffs in this cycle — $1,000 to Bob Stevenson (HD16) on 6/11/26, and $500 to his own successor Tamara Tran (SD-6) on 6/22/26.
A third Stevenson, unresolved: Jed D. Stevenson gave $4,000 to Tamara Tran the same day as Jerry Stevenson's $500 gift (6/22/26). His mailing address — 706 E 1000 S, Kaysville — doesn't match Jerry's Layton address, so this is a separate open lead, not confirmation of anything already flagged. Worth checking whether Jed is related to either Jerry or Bob before this cycle closes out.
