Where the records point. Every pin comes from a public document — an agreement, a notice, a budget, a vote — and links to its source and to the case file behind it. Locations are general, not exact boundaries.
Live maps are open to explore. Being built maps are in progress from records already in hand. Planned maps will open when they're ready.
M A solid pin is approved or adopted.
M A dashed pin is proposed, pending, challenged, or not yet confirmed in the record. Dashed does not mean it failed.
Each pin opens a panel: who approved it, what the record shows with a source on every line, and a red box for anything the records haven't settled.
Every map has flip cards for the terms it uses. Pins link to the Hive case files and stories behind them.
Every map shows the state line, county lines, and city limits so you can see where each pin sits. Pins mark general locations, such as a city center or a hearing site, not exact boundaries. Boundaries are from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Public documents: resolutions, plans, budgets, minutes, notices, and agencies' own websites. News reports are cited only where noted.
